Downtime was caused by distributed denial of service attack against some of dreamhost's sites (Dreamhost is my host for kaykays.com) and they tackled the issue quite promptly!
Now for the slowness of the site, it's because of some other site hosted by Dreamhost was sucking all the bandwidth with all their videos on their site
, and it was closed off, so that is why the site is nippy now. Yay!
